Advantages

Carpet flooring offers numerous benefits, making it a preferred choice for many households:

Comfort and Warmth: Carpets provide a soft and cushioned surface, making them comfortable to walk on and adding warmth to any room.

Noise Reduction: Carpets absorb sound, reducing noise levels within a room and between floors, making them ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, and other areas where quiet is desired.

Variety of Styles: With a wide range of colors, patterns, and textures available, carpets can complement any interior design style, from traditional to contemporary.

Safety: The soft surface of carpets provides a non-slip flooring option, reducing the risk of falls and injuries, especially in homes with children or elderly residents.

Insulation: Carpets offer thermal insulation, helping to retain heat during colder months and contributing to energy efficiency.

Easy Maintenance: Modern carpets are designed to be stain-resistant and easy to clean, with many options available that are specifically treated to resist spills and dirt.

Carpet flooring is an excellent choice for homeowners seeking a comfortable, stylish, and practical flooring solution. Its ability to provide warmth, reduce noise, and enhance the overall aesthetic of a space makes it a versatile and popular option for any room in the house.

Why Choose Carpet

Carpet is a great flooring option that has an extremely versatile range of styles and designs that will bring new life to any space, whether it be residential or commercial. Good quality carpet will retain its appearance for many years with proper installation and maintenance. At Landmark Flooring, we offer an extensive range of carpets from industry-leading suppliers, ensuring we have carpet of all types and styles to fit any budget and design. We work with you to pick out the best carpet for your space, and we guarantee all our work, confident that you will be happy with our products and installation.

Carpet is an excellent flooring choice for many situations, providing comfort and warmth to any space. The fibers act as natural thermal insulators due to their material makeup, allowing them to efficiently regulate temperature in your home or office. The surface pile of carpet traps air, making carpet even more insulating. Not only is carpet great for insulation, but it also helps with the acoustics in a room by absorbing sound and reducing noise. Some types of carpeting are better than others at capturing sound, but any carpet you choose will help improve the acoustics of your space, making it more comfortable.

The soft and springy fibers of carpet cushion body weight, which is why orthopedists recommend carpet for people suffering from back pain or joint injuries. Carpet helps prevent discomfort when walking around your home or workspace. It is also a great option for people at risk of falling due to age or medical conditions, providing better footing and more grip than smooth flooring surfaces. The soft pile closely adheres to your feet, reducing slipping and tripping accidents. Additionally, the soft material of carpet helps cushion impacts if you do fall, making it a safer alternative than hard flooring materials.

Indoor environments, especially those within the home and workplace, greatly impact our physical and mental well-being. Most people spend much of their time indoors, and the spaces they occupy play an integral role in how they feel physically and psychologically. Carpet fibers capture allergens as they fall to the ground, making carpets better at preventing the spread of allergies than hard surfaces. Regular vacuuming helps keep indoor air quality healthy by removing dust particles that can cause symptoms such as irritation and infections. Carpet is one of the best surfaces to keep your home or office clean and dust-free. Like allergens, carpet binds dirt in its fibers, which can then be removed entirely through regular vacuuming and periodic steam cleaning. This makes carpet perfect for projects where indoor air quality matters, such as schools, offices, and hotels.

At Landmark Flooring, we not only provide you with carpets that you will love and enjoy for years, but we also offer a wide range of vinyl plank, vinyl tile, and laminate floors to freshen up any space and complete any project. We are committed to ensuring your satisfaction with our products and installation, guaranteeing that you will be happy with the results.

Types of Carpet

Cut Pile

The fibers are sheared with exposed ends. Available in a variety of lengths and thicknesses. The tighter the twisting of the fibers, the more texture and durability your carpet has. This is the most popular choice.

Loop

These fibers are not sheared, instead they are tightly twisted loops that are resistant to matting and crushing. This creates unique patterns and textures. A highly durable carpet, but be aware that loops can be pulled and snagged, this can damage your carpet.

Cut/Loop

Blends both looped and sheared strands for intricate and unique looks. This is often used to create patterns.

Composition and Structure

Carpet flooring is composed of several layers, each contributing to its overall performance and comfort:

Backing Layer: The bottom layer provides support and stability to the carpet structure. It can also include a secondary backing to enhance durability and ease of installation.

Pile Layer: This is the visible surface of the carpet, made up of fibers that are either looped or cut. The pile height and density affect the carpet’s texture and feel.

Cushioning: Often placed beneath the carpet, a cushioning layer enhances comfort underfoot and provides additional insulation and sound absorption.

Fibers: The fibers used in carpets can be natural (like wool) or synthetic (like nylon, polyester, or olefin). Each type of fiber offers different benefits in terms of durability, stain resistance, and softness.

Protective Treatments: Carpets can be treated with various finishes to improve stain resistance, reduce static electricity, and enhance overall durability.
